Town of Elbridge Recreation Mission Statement:

Welcome to the Town of Elbridge Recreation Department. Here in the Recreation Office, we try to provide something for everyone. Our goal is to meet the recreation and leisure needs of the members of the Jordan-Elbridge community and surrounding areas…from youth to adults.

We believe meeting these needs involves feedback from the community. We welcome questions, comments and ideas for our current programming or new activities.

We will do our best to follow through and to continue making the Jordan-Elbridge area a great place to live and play!

Recreation plays an important role in the overall well being of our community's residents. It is the mission of the Recreation Department to provide the facilities, resources, coaches and leadership, along with age appropriate play and levels of competition that will encourage and prepare our youth to be well-rounded individuals.

      1.      To emphasize the proper ideals of sportsmanship, ethical conduct and fair play.

       2.      To eliminate all possibilities which tend to destroy the best values of the game.

       3.      To stress the values derived from playing the game fairly.

       4.      To show courtesy to visiting teams and officials.

       5.      To establish a happy relationship between visitors and hosts.

      6.      To respect the integrity and judgment of sports officials.

                  7.      To achieve a thorough understanding and acceptance of the rules of the games and the standards of eligibility.

          8.      To encourage leadership, use of initiative and good judgment by the players on a team.

                        9.    To recognize that the purpose of athletics is to promote the physical, mental, moral, social and emotional well-being of the individual players.

                       10.  To remember that an athletic contest is only a game – not a matter of life or death for the player, coach, school, official, fan, community, state or nation.

The Recreation Dept. subscribes to the Code of Ethics that is recommended by the N.Y.S.P.H.S.A.A.
